In the 80’s Candino was well known for the first two-tone high-tech ceramic watch, made of the ultra-tough material Innotec. Another milestone was set, to establish Candino as a valuable Swiss made watch brand, with the development of a power reserve module on the automatic movement ETA2892 with 2 independent time zones, regulated by a single crown. This movement is actually used for the Classic Tradition Collection.
In 2002, Candino was taken over by Mr. Miguel Rodriguez and incorporated in the Festina Group. Immediately the brand could profit from the group’s worldwide network to clients, suppliers and partners.
Since then Candino became partner as official time keeper of several sport events as an example the Davidoff Swiss Indoors. The latest partnership with PlanetSolar, the first around-the-world trip powered by solar energy from 2010 to 2012, was Candino’s first Eco-Adventure. In the PlanetSolar project, Candino has found a concrete way of supporting and promoting renewable energies, as well as a means of expressing the value it attaches to sport, innovation and forward-thinking.
